I’m looking for a comedy, but please, so stupid/slap-stick type like ’scary movie’ or any other of those teen movies… I’m looking for something witty, with good actors, maybe if you know a foreign funny movie that’d be great! I’m just looking for GOOD comedy… Anyway, just throw it out there… Best movie (by my taste) gets 10 pts!

Monty Python’s Life Of Brian or The Holy Grail
Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein
Four great movies if you’re into that sort of humor.

  2. The Gods Must Be Crazy, Raising Arizona, and The Last Seduction. The last one isn’t a comedy per se, but the protagonist is so mean and manipulative most people I’ve watched it with have laughed out loud. Also, Flirting With Disaster, Home For The Holidays, and The War of the Roses

Are you open to any year? If so, I’d recommend My Man Godfrey or Born Yesterday (with Judy Holliday, not Melanie Griffith).

Ok! Mel Brook’s Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, but my favorite, the original “The Producers”, the opening scenes still make me howl, with Zero Mostel. Oh yeah and of course the original “La Cage aux Folles” in French with English Subs.

You got mail is poignant and funny and a tearjerker; if you like that type of flick.
Good comedy is hard to come by; they don’t make em like they use to- and depending on your mood, my personal faves and recommendations are the following:
Scavenger Hunt- it’s hard to come by but if you do indeed locate a copy, you won’t be sorry. It’s from the late 70’s and it’s a riot.
Clerks- I know someone else said this too, but for me it’s because I can relate to it- I worked in a convenience store so I appreciate the writing.
Some like it hot- total classic.
    The Goonies
    Adventures in babysitting
    The Blues brothers
    Used Cars
    Caddyshack
    Spaceballs
    Midnight Run
    Out to sea
    Bachelor mother- ginger rogers classic!
    Beverly hills cop
    The princess bride
    the imposters
Have fun with your decision. I own over 1000 titles and have collected for over 20 years- I’m a film hound.

  24. “le dîner de cons” a French movie taken from a play, if you understand French, you will enjoy it ! It’a a REALLLLLLY good comedy.
The story is about a group of “high society” guys who organize special diners every wednesday.
The goal is to bring somebody who is as stupid as possible.
Of course, the one who will take to the diner the stupidest person will be the “winner” !
But, one day, when Philippe Brochant thinks he has found a guy with “the face of a winner => the stupidest”, he is gonna wonder who finally the stupidest is !
With the link below you’ll find the synopsis and some general info about the movie.
